Our Classes

The purpose of Yoga Central is to provide a peaceful, nurturing environment where people from all traditions can step away from their busy lives and experience the many aspects of yoga.

At Yoga Central, we offer classes seven days a week. In addition to the daily classes, we offer Private Yoga Instruction and Thai Yoga Therapy sessions that cater to your specific requirements.

Whether you are a seasoned practitioner of yoga, or just beginning to explore a world of new possibilities, we are here to support you in your journey to develop inner peace and outer strength through this ancient and powerful practice called Yoga.

Our compassionate, dedicated staff of experienced instructors will guide you on a journey into healing mind, body, and spirit.

Yoga Classes

Crystal Bowls & The Language of Light: The Healing Power of Sound: Our newest class at Yoga Central enables you to receive the healing benefits of yoga in a very special way. This class begins on January 11, 2008 and will be held every other Friday at 7 p.m.

A sound healer and teacher with over 17 years of practice, Irlianna Samsara blends quartz crystal "singing bowls" with vocal harmonics and overtones. These sacred sounds can actually be felt reverberating in your body, dissolving stress and tension.

You can also experience the healing benefits of the Language of Divine Light. Also know as the Language of the Stars, it is a non-linear, holographic language that opens portals for profound healing. Many attendees report amazing breakthroughs and personal transformation as a result of these healing journeys. ($12 per class)

Energy Yoga: This class is for those students who are seeking a more challenging session. Energy Yoga will help improve strength, flexibility, muscle tone and lung capacity. Though prior yoga experience is recommended, physically fit beginners are welcome.

Dynamic Flow Yoga: This class steps Energy Yoga up one level. It incorporates more advanced postures within the Vinyasa flowing style of yoga. Be prepared to sweat!

Family & Friends Yoga: This class offers a way for students to share the benefits of yoga with their families and friends. Each student is allowed up to three family members or friends per session. Students use one class - family and friends are free!

Gentle Yoga: This class combines basic postures with breathing and relaxation to provide a gentle to moderate workout for the entire body.

Prenatal Yoga: Enhance this powerful time in your life with a unique series of postures and stamina building exercises designed specifically for your changing body. This class will offer safe and effective modifications to meet your individual needs through all three trimesters of your pregnancy. No prior yoga experience required.

Stress Management Yoga: This class provides education, breathing techniques, postures and meditation to help one manage stress in daily life. No prior yoga experience required.

Kids' Yoga: Parents can take a break and feel good about their children participating in this class which promotes the strengthening of children's growing bodies and relaxation of their creative minds with the added benefits of focus and discipline.

Yoga for All: For beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. This class will offer breath work and asana (physical posture) variations for all skill levels.

Other Classes

Belly Dancing: This class is suited for the dance enthusiast or for those simply searching for a new, fun and exotic form of exercise. A head-to-toe workout, this ancient dance form helps students tone and align their body while embracing their beauty and individuality. (Please wear clothing that will allow you to move freely.)

Tai Chi: This class uses slow moving meditative forms based on this ancient practice that when performed encourages balance and general well-being of the entire body.

Bollywood Dance Workout/Choreography: Coming August 2007! This class is a fusion of traditional and classical Indian dance with the influence of some jazz, hip-hop and modern dance. This lively form of dance encourages movement of all parts of the body. It's a great way to workout, relieve stress and most of all - have fun!
Choreography: Saturdays 4-6 p.m.
Dance Workout: Sundays 4-5:15 p.m.

Private Sessions

Private Yoga Instruction: In each Private Yoga session you will feel the weight of the world fall away with guided relaxation, flowing asanas (physical postures), cleansing breath work and silent meditation. View rates.

Thai Yoga Bodywork: Consists of assisted (passive) gentle yoga postures which are used to release blockages allowing the body's energy to flow freely, alleviating conditions such as low back pain, sciatica, arthritis, neck pain and headaches, numbness, stiff or immobile joints, digestive difficulties as well as other injury and stress related conditions. Thai Yoga Massage introduces the subtle and profound benefits of a yoga session, without any previous experience. View rates.
